North Carolina · Convening since 1978

One morning a year, the field sits down together.

Providers. Advocates. People with lived experience. Joined by the legislators shaping policy.

Since 1978, North Carolina's mental health community has gathered for one breakfast each February: to align on priorities, hear what's working, and put what matters in front of the people who can act on it.

Why we convene

Three things happen when the field gets in one room.

Policy moves. Priorities that take a year to surface in the General Assembly get raised in three hours, by the people closest to the work.

The network thickens. The clinician from Asheville meets the advocate from Wilmington meets the senator from the eastern district. The field starts to operate as a system, not silos.

Mental health stays visible. Year after year, the breakfast keeps mental health on the legislative agenda and in the public conversation.
